The Legacy:
Elyria Catholic gratefully acknowledges those faculty and staff members of the year 2003-2004, who through their personal and financial contributions, helped turn a dream into reality. This chapel reflects the special commitment by these individuals to the mission of Elyria Catholic High School and to the students she serves. The exterior doors of the chapel represent a joint contribution of the student body and that of Mr. and Mrs. George Garton (Class of '55 and '58 respectively) in loving memory of Mary Garton, long-time teacher, and friend of Elyria Catholic.
A special note of gratitude is owed to Mr. Craig Petrus for his countless hours of work and craftsmanship in constructing this chapel. The stained glass windows were created and donated by Mr. Tony LaGrotteria.
May this chapel and all it represents forever give witness to the true essence of Elyria Catholic High School.
The chapel is in place to allow the Elyria Catholic community more opportunities to let the Holy Spirit make a change in their lives. A Liturgy of the Word is held every morning at 7:45am. Many Theology classes hold prayer services throughout the day. The chapel is also open to anyone who wants to pray or simply escape and sit quietly with Jesus Christ for a few moments during school.
